William A. Tindale

December 6, 1940 — November 6, 2024

William Tindale, 83, of Delanson, NY passed away at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Guilderland on Wednesday November 6, 2024. Born on December 6, 1940 in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late James and Myrilda (Bosely) Tindale. Bill grew up in Rotterdam, NY and was a 1959 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. Bill served our country (which he loved) in the Air Force Reserves and then became a NYS Trooper for 20 years. On May 29, 1971 he married the love of his life, Mary Tindale. They built a home and a wonderful life together in Delanson, NY where they raised their 2 children: Bill and Kathleen. After retiring, he ran his own excavation business. This was his true passion and he was always willing to use his backhoe to help a friend in need. Bill was also a well loved announcer at many Duanesburg Basketball games as well as somewhat of a celebrity (and frequent flier) at Gibby’s Diner where he was always telling his one line jokes. Bill was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church for nearly 50 years. He served in the church as a Lector and was also very active in the Prison Ministry program which meant so much to him. Bill read his Bible regularly and it was always by his nightstand.

Bill was predeceased by his wife of almost 50 years, Mary Tindale as well as his brother James Tindale. He is survived by his two loving children; Bill Tindale (Nancie) and Kathleen Kane (Ryan) and his grandchildren; Noah and Micah Tindale, and Abby and Natalie Kane. He also leaves his two sisters in law; Sr. Julia Werner, and Ellen Werner as well as caring nieces; Patti Bickford and Susan Gionfrido.
