Thomas R. Gordon Sr.

With great sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Thomas Gordon on July 20, 2023, at the age of 79. Thomas, a lifelong resident of Esperance, NY navigated a prolonged health battle with dignity and strength, inspiring all those who knew him.

A graduate of Schoharie High School in 1962, Thomas furthered his education at Cobleskill College, earning his Associate’s degree. He had several work experiences until retirement from Wine Merchants.

Thomas’s true passion was the great outdoors, where he found tranquility and satisfaction in fishing, boating, and gardening. His tender care of the family farm was not just a labor of love, but also an expression of his deep roots in the land called home. He was an original member of the Esperance Elks BPOE 2507.

Thomas is survived by his devoted wife, Crystal Gordon, his children Tracy (Mark) Hallsworth, Shannon (Matt) Gordon, Renee (Victor) Santoro, Thomas Gordon Jr., Shanee Gordon, and his stepson Justin Miller. He was the proud grandfather to David (Aubrey) Cook, Tyler (Amanda) Cook, Italya (Robert) Ackerbauer, Jaydon Santoro, Trinity Santoro, and his great-granddaughter, Aaron Cook. He also leaves behind his siblings Warren Sr. (Barbara) Gordon, Linda (Dave) Pfaffenbach, and Sally (Rich) Daddario, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. His beloved four-legged companion, Susie, will also miss him greatly.

Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Helen Borden Gordon, and his sisters, Kathleen Gordon Willman and Patricia Gordon Fagan.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Thomas’s life at a memorial service held at his home on August 19th, 2023 at 2 pm. We will gather to remember and honor a man who lived life fully, shared love generously, and leaves behind a legacy of enduring kindness and dedication.
