Stanley passed away Saturday evening, June 1st, 2013.
Born March 29th 1926, in Schenectady to the late Marjan (Marion) Pogorzelski and Wladislawa (Ida) Bruzdzinski Pogorzelski, Stanley graduated from Mont Pleasant H.S. in 1944. He worked as an Army Depot “Commando” at age 17. Stanley worked as a coal carrier for Springstead & Smith, and then for 39 years at G.E. as a punch press operator, varnish dip operator, and in the mica factory.
A tough, hardworking man; Stanley loved his family his farm and his garden. Most days he was found caring for his wife, loving his pets or out in his garden tending his crops.
Stanley is survived by his wife Annie Joyce Fort Pogorzelski, children John and (Peg) Gorsin, Tom and (Nikki) Pogorzelski, Mary and (Bobby) Cash and his daughter-in-law, Grace Pogorzelski. Grandchildren Rebecca, John, Luke Gorsin, Jessica, Jacqueline, Aimee Wayman, Robert (Amy), Crystal Pogorzelski, Tiffany Terry, Sean, Kathleen Kanaley, Amy, Brian Pogorzelski, Rachel (Justin) Hoy, Chris (Amy), Jesse, Joshua, Joseph and Jacob Cash. 18 Great Grandchildren 3 more on the way, several nieces, nephews, close family friends Pauline and James Petteys. Sisters Ann (Reno) Bailoni, Veronica Thomson, and Brother Edmund (Eleanor) Pogorzelski. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, John McKee.
Stanley was preceded in death by his son Stanley Robert Pogorzelski, and Sisters Wanda Sindoni, and Irene McKee.
Family and friends are welcome at his home anytime. Celebration of his life will be at 2pm Tuesday June 4th, at the family cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart and Lung Association and the local ASPCA.
