Shirley L. (Ross) Laven

January 16, 1934 — April 16, 2015

Braman Corners  NY - Shirley L. ( Ross)  Laven ,81, passed away on April 16, 2015 at Albany Medical Center  with her family at her side. She was born on January 16 ,1934  in Delanson  NY , a daughter of the late Theron and Virginia Nolan  Ross.
Shirley was educated  in a one room schoolhouse in Braman Corners for six years then at the  Delanson Union Free School then it was centralized to Duanesburg Central  and she graduated in 1952. Shirley was employed with the State of New York in the Department of Labor for 30 years until she retired in 1996.
She is survived by her sons Carl (Earlene) Laven of Delanson and Mark (Mary) Laven of Florida .Her grandson Bryan (Colleen) Laven of Troy and  two special great grandchildren Reilly Laven and Chloe Laven of Troy .  She is also survived by her brothers Theron (Jennie)  Ross of Rochester, Ralph(Linda) Ross of Gloversville and Raymond Ross of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband Joseph “Bud” Laven in September of 2008 , her brothers Ernest  and Clarence  and her sisters Aleta, Ruth and Violet .
Family and friends are invited to call at the White VanBuren Funeral Home 1779 Main Street Delanson On Wednesday April 22, 2015 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Funeral service will begin at 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date to be announced at Braman Corners Union Cemetery Herrick Rd Braman Corners. Memorial donations maybe made to the local Audubon Society and / or the local ASPCA


GRAVESIDE SERVICES FOR SHIRLEY WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY JUNE 6 2015 AT BRAMANS CORNERS UNION CEMETERY  HERRICK ROAD AT 12 NOON THE PUBLIC IS INVITED TO ATTEND.
