Shirley “Aunt Shirley” J. Lape (née Regeles), of Clifton Park, 80, died peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2015, following a lengthy illness. Shirley was born December 5, 1935 in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Clarence and Madeline Swart Regeles. Shirley was a fan of the Yankees; NASCAR Sprint Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Truck series racing; as well as Indy racing. She also enjoyed watching television game shows, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Dancing with the Stars and Project Runway. She is survived by her sister, Marion K. (Regeles) Stepnowski of Mariaville Lake; her uncle, Harvey Swart of Frostproof, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her dearest friends Cindy McEathron, Gloria Iovino and Debra McClain. In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her brother, Leroy Regeles and brother-in-law, Walter Stepnowski, Sr. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on January 5 2016 at 11 am at Schenectady Memorial Park, 566 Giffords Church Road, Schenectady.
