Duanesburg -Sara M. Brown, 82, of Duanesburg Road, Passed away at home peacefully on January 3. 2014 after a courageous battle with poor health for several years.
She was born in Nisakyuna NY the daughter of the late George and Sara Harris.
Sara was married to Erwin Brown who predeceased her in 1999.
For 37 years until her retirement in her seventies, Sara was employed by the State of New York in the Tax and Finance Department.
Sara was an avid reader loved her cats and her flower garden and croqueting. Her family lovingly remembers her as a devoted homemaker wife mother and grandmother with a zest for life and great sense of humor.
Sara is survived by her daughter Sandra Parker of Ca. and her son and longtime caregiver Stephen “Tinker” Brown of Duanesburg and her grandson Christopher Scott Coon of Amsterdam. Her brother Richard (Roxanne) Harris and two nephews Richard G. (AnnMarie) Harris and Karl (Diane) Harris and her cousin Ester Russo.
Sara was predeceased also by her son Jeff Brown and a grandson Daniel Smith.
In keeping with Sara’s wishes there are no services.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Mary Unser and Dr .David Hornick for their time and compassion during Sara’s illness.
