Sandra Jean DeVos Huber (November 10, 2025), beloved wife and mother, was born in Albany, NY on November 3rd, 1945 to William and Sophia DeVos. Sandy graduated from SUNY Albany with a B.A. in 1968 and had a lifelong love of reading, language, and communication. She met Russell Huber in 1968, and they were wed in 1976.
As the mother of two sons, William Huber of Albany, NY, and Carl (Aubrey) Huber of Penfield, NY, Sandy participated regularly in Duanesburg Central School District reading programs, the PTSO, and served as a Boy Scout den mother. Pursuing her passion for volunteering, she then devoted much of her time to PBS fundraising auctions and reading for the print disabled through the WMHT RISE program. She later enjoyed many years of working within the Schenectady County Public Library system.
She lived a well-rounded life, including enjoying mystery novels, creating stained glass art projects, going on road trips, and cooking and baking.
Sandy is predeceased by siblings Catherine Agans and William DeVos, and survived by brother Kenneth DeVos. She is also survived and cherished by her devoted husband Russ, her two sons and daughter-in-law, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday December 6th from 2-4pm at White-Van Buren Funeral Home 1779 Main St., Delanson, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations to your local PBS television station or National Public Radio station may be made in her name.
