Sally A Wilber

d. February 16, 2016

Sally A. Wilber died yesterday at her home in Delanson, NY.  Sally was born on October 5, 1936 in Portland, Maine, the only daughter of Edmund and Thelma Waide.  Sally and her mother and step-father, Norman Hennen, moved around during her childhood throughout New England, New York and Arkansas, always looking for the greener grass.  Sally attended 10 different schools, graduating from Berne Knox Central School, class of 1955.  After graduation, she worked at GE in Schenectady for 2 years.
On August 31, 1957 Sally married Charles H. Wilber and they made their home in Delanson.  They became proud parents of 4 daughters; Cathy (Ron) Rack, Wendy (Dennis) Graves, Bonnie (Bob) Farnum and Penny (Horace) Stanton, grandparents of 7; Kyle and Amy Rack, Tom, Dan and Amanda Farnum and Jennifer and Sally Stanton; great grandparents of 4; Hailey Rack-Centell and Chloe Alvarenga, Christopher LaBombard and Madison Farnum.
Sally worked as a representative of Dutchmaid Clothing for several years and served as District Manager before retiring.  During those years Sally hosted many family reunions for the Breckenridge and Wilber clans.
Sally's greatest love was her family. She was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren and their friends.  Sally and Charles thoroughly enjoyed retirement, spending winters in their condo in Lake Havasu City, Arizona and summers at their octagon house in Delanson and ocean front cottage in York Beach, Maine. In between they traveled extensively, visiting Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand and all 50 states.
She was an expert at clipping coupons and enjoyed passing on that knowledge to her girls.  She was a Giants and Yankees fan, and loved playing penny slots in Arizona and New York.  She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by her many friends and family.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 21, 2:00pm, at Esperance Sloansville United Methodist Church, 175 Main Street, Esperance.  Memorial donations made be made to ESUMC Food Pantry, PO Box 254, Esperance, NY 12066.
