Duanesburg

Duanesburg – Laurie Ann Dykeman, 70, passed away Friday January 9, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Born in Niskayuna, she was the daughter of William and Mary (Rostkowski) Dunn. Laurie graduated from Duanesburg Central School and went on to study art in college.

In her early life she enjoyed time with her family running the Harbor North Marina and spending summers boating Lake George. Laurie loved taking her kids camping when they were young. Baking, gardening, and crafting were more than hobbies—they were the threads that wove her days together.

For many years, Laurie was a dedicated account supervisor at Newkirk Products in Albany. Upon her retirement, she turned her love of creativity into a small, successful crafting business, bringing joy to neighbors and friends alike.

Laurie will forever be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family and friends, the warmth she brought to all who knew her, and the joy she found in her beloved grand pups.

Laurie leaves behind her two children Lindsey (Walter) Hladchuk and Justin Dykeman (Samantha).

Her brother William (Henrietta) Dunn and her niece Kathryn Dunn. She is also cherished by her extended family—who will feel her love for years to come

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Laurie will be laid to rest at Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam with her parents.

Memorial contributions may be made in Laurie’s memory to the Duanesburg Volunteer Ambulance Corps 130 Cole Rd., Delanson, NY 12053
