Town of Wright - Joyce Mary Warner, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, January 6th 2026.
Joyce was born in Jamaica, Queens, on January 10th, 1944, to Arline and Peter Warwavesyn. Joyce was raised in Queens, NY with her two younger sisters Carol and Jane. She attended Samuel J Tilden high school from September 1957- June 1959. After a family move to Ozone Park in Queens, NY she completed her high school education at John Adam’s high school graduating in 1961. She moved to Los Angeles, California for a short time where she worked as a telephone operator for AT&T. Joyce then moved back to NYC where she worked as a clerical worker at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company. In the late 1960s she moved to Quaker Street NY where she worked as a waitress at the family owned Long Shadow Restaurant and subsequently met her future husband Raymond Warner. After their marriage, she shifted priorities and began work as a fulltime mother, and home maker. Once her husband Raymond retired, she began working part time for Walmart as a cashier during the summer months, and traveled south with her husband and dogs during the winter months.
Joyce enjoyed her pets, gardening, bird watching, traveling, knitting, and spending time with her family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Arline and Peter Warwavesyn, her step sister Nancy Essegian, her husband, Raymond Warner and son Dean Warner.
She is survived by her children, Scott Warner, Dale Warner, Joel Warner, and Mitch Warner, her grandchildren, Dillon Warner, Alyssa Warner, Raynette Warner, Dale Warner Jr., Bridget Warner, Jenna Warner, Sarah Pepper, Kyle Warner, Sam Warner, Melonie Warner, Dana Warner, Katy Wright, and her sisters, Jane Parsons and Carol Bonfiglio.
Services will be held in the spring at Grove Cemetery.
