Joy Desantis

Mariaville - Joy DeSantis, 88, left this planet on April 5, 2021. Born in the former Amsterdam City Hospital on St. Patrick’s Day, she was the only daughter of William and Eva (Fowler) McKeone of Mariaville.

She attended Mariaville Central Rural School before graduating from Draper High School in Rotterdam. After graduating she would work for several years at Barney’s Department Store in the office of Accounts Payable. Joy married her best friend and benevolent soul mate, Vincent “Jim” DeSantis. They were happily married for almost 54 years. Together they had two children and four grandchildren, in which they were most supportive.

Joy is survived by her children; Wendy and Darren J. (Violette), her 4 grandchildren, and many loving relatives and close friends.

She now joins in eternal life her parents William and Eva.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 11am at Chuctanunda Cemetery in Amsterdam, NY.
