John W. “Jack” Brown, Jr., 68, of Delanson passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Jack grew up in Duanesburg, son of the late John W. Brown, Sr. and Dorothy Oldendorf Brown.
He attended Duanesburg Central School, graduated from Schalmont High School, and was a graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College and the College of Saint Rose. Jack served in the U.S. Army Nike Hercules Missile Defense Program from 1968-1971. He retired from the General Electric Company in 2003 with 37 years of service. He was an avid classic car fan/collector, a past volunteer at Saratoga Auto Museum, a member and Director of the Duanesburg Historical Society, and attended the Duanesburg Reformed Presbyterian Church.
Jack was predeceased by his brother-in-law John Patterson. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Marsha Gaye Drinon Brown, his sister Barbara Patterson of Seneca, SC, his nephew Scott Patterson of Seneca, SC and niece Doreen Baker of Liverpool, NY, his grand-nephews Alex and Ben Baker of Syracuse, NY, several very dear cousins, many wonderful friends, and treasured kitty, Mika.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 at the White-Van Buren Funeral Home, 1779 Main Street, Delanson. Interment in Grove Cemetery, Quaker Street, NY.
