Janet M. Vrooman

Duanesburg - J anet M. Vrooman, 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Rickard Smith. She was married to the late Gordon Vrooman Jr.

Janet was a manager with the New York State Department of Civil Service. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Often she could be found with a good book in hand. She loved to dance and make people laugh whenever possible, especially when giving out her “special” gifts. Her family was the center of her life and she cherished gatherings and the time she spent with her grandchildren and grand dogs.

She is survived by her daughters; Kirstin (Toby) LaGrange and Marissa Vrooman (Andy Snyder), her two grandchildren; Samuel and Caleb LaGrange, her siblings; Liz (Bruce) Adriance, Art Smith, Carol Gensicki, Sharon (Patrick) Wren, and Ron (Becky) Smith, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Gordon, her parents, Jacob and Elizabeth, and her sister Patricia Smith.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 4pm-6pm at White-Van Buren Funeral Home, 1779 Main St. Delanson, NY 12053. A funeral service will follow at 6pm at the funeral home.
