Floyd Mickel Jr, 86, of Duanesburg, died on August 20, 2016 at Ellis Hospital.
Born in Schenectady, Floyd was the son of the late Floyd and Rita Lansing Mickel and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School.
Floyd joined the US Army in 1951. He served in Germany during the allied occupancy and was honorably discharged in 1953. He was employed by Schenectady Steel for over 30 years and retired in 1995.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was also predeceased by his sister Janet Fancher.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Noreen Neadle Mickel, three children; Catherine (James) Pneuman of Duanesburg, Karen (Paul) Pohls of Esperance and Kevin (Maureen) Mickel of Niskayuna, his sister; Mildred Mickel of Schenectady, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be held on Wednesday, 11 am at Esperance Cemetery.
