Elizabeth B. Vicik, 87, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at her home in Delanson, NY.
She was born on July 5, 1937, in Queens, NY to the late Alex Csorba and Elizabeth Dreska Csorba. Elizabeth attended local schools before becoming a Travel Agent for Greyhound at Port Authority in Manhattan. She was united in marriage to Mr. Paul Vicik and happily married for 51 years. Together they raised their family in the Bronx until their retirement. Following retirement, Elizabeth and Paul relocated to the Delanson area where they enjoyed traveling, outdoor activities and above all else, spending time with their family.
Elizabeth also loved befriending anyone she could. She enjoyed serving her community where she was a member of the Duanesburg meal site, Duanesburg Senior Citizens and enjoyed volunteering at the food pantry in Cobleskill.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Betsy Alterwisher, and son Paul Vicik (Mary Ann), grandchildren Michael Vicik, Jessica Rodriguez (Jorge), Danielle Alterwisher, Kimberly Vicik, Kristina Alterwisher, Billy Vicik, and Heather Alterwisher, great grandchildren Lillian Hattauer, Aliza Swift, Jorgie Rodriguez, Noah Swift, Jesse Rodriguez as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elizabeth became a loved 'Grandma' to many others.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Vicik, and brother Alex Csorba.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday October 10, 2024 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at White-VanBuren Funeral Home in Delanson. A Service of Remembrance will take place immediately after at 6:00 PM. Elizabeth will be laid to rest with her late husband, Paul at Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY on Friday October 11, 2024.
Elizabeth disliked black for funerals and it is her wish that all that attend wear colorful clothing to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
