Edward D. Menzies

DELANSON- Edward D. Menzies, 72, of Delanson NY passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, NY to William and Alice (Sharkey) Menzies, he was the youngest of six children. Ed was affectionately known by most as “Uncle Ed”.  He graduated from Duanesburg High School in 1969. Ed served in the US Air Force in Germany, and retired from the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Department with the rank of Captain.  He loved all things Disney and enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, and was a huge Civil War buff.

Ed is survived by his sister Catherine (George) Grenier and his brother David Menzies, many beloved nieces, nephews and other family members. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Bill, Dan and Jack Menzies.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 3 pm on Friday December 1, 2023 at the White-Van Buren Funeral Home 1779 Main Street, Delanson, and may visit with his family prior to the service from 1-3 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery, Delanson.
