Carl O Peterson

June 17, 1929 — September 28, 2017

Knox- Carl O. Peterson, 88, passed away peacefully at his home on September 28, 2017 surrounded by his beloved family.

He was born on June 17, 1929 at the family home, the son of the late Oscar and Florence Alexson Peterson.

Carl was a graduate of Duanesburg Central School.

A dairy farmer his entire life, he owned and operated Bozenkill Farm along with his wife Marjorie “Midge” Peterson Durfee, whom he married on March 8, 1952.

Carl also enjoyed the production of maple syrup, stock car racing, square dancing,  just to name a few.

Carl served as Chairman of Agri -Mark Dairy for 14 years and was a member of Albany County Farm Bureau, along with the Cooperative Extension Service.

He is survived by his beloved wife Marjorie “Midge” “Granny” Peterson, their children Marcia (Jeff) Proper of Gallupville, Mark Peterson of Duanesburg, Keith (Karen) Peterson of Burke, Tammy Peterson of Knox, 9 cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Rebecca (Edward) Schweigard of  Howes Cave, Joshua (Karie) Burtt  of Knox, Annie Burtt (Frank Santos) of Voorheesville, Eric Peterson of Schenectady, Justin (Maribel) Peterson of Knox , Keith (Patricia) Peterson of Massena, Neil (Chrissy) Peterson of Chateaugay , Jacob (Erica) Peterson of Burke and Virginia (Phil) Soulia of TN., and 21 loved  great grandchildren.

Carl was predeceased by his sister Thelma Murphy.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Duanesburg Presbyterian Reformed Church Route 20 Duanesburg on Monday October 2, 2017 from 10 am to 1 pm. Immediately following funeral services will begin at the church. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery Quaker Street NY.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
