Alton Harvey Durfee, Jr., October 2, 1937 to December 23, 2025. With sadness, Alton entered into the eternal light on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suzanne Durfee, son, Darrell Durfee (Rhonda), step-sons, David Durrant (Melissa) and Dennis Durrant, grandsons, Dennis and Preston Durrant, cousin, Dwight Sickler (Kathy), and nieces and nephews.
After serving in the Navy during the Korean War, he came home and started his own excavation business of 30 years, Al Durfee Excavation. During his free time, he enjoyed family and friends, anything to do with motors and things that went fast, boating, especially on Sacandaga Lake, snowmobiling, camping, and his classic car building and racing. Al will be missed by many.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, January 2nd at 11am, at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871. Those wishing to attend should be at the cemetery at 10:45am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice, at 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
